Sports Eyewear

Sports for all…

For those who need vision correction it is vitally important that they can see comfortably and well if they are to be able to partake in any sport, especially competitively; it doesn’t matter whether you are competing against your friends playing tennis in the park or at international level.

Prescription lenses in wraparound sunspecs have been a nightmare, patients come to me with stories of uneven floors and blurred vision.  If you want to put prescription lenses in a wrap around frame it needs to be a Freeform digitally surfaced lens taking into account the shape of the frame and the power of the lenses at the design stage.  We use Rodenstock Sport extracurved and Shamir Smart Attitude lenses to give clear vision from edge to edge.

After three years i’m still using my Ketyum for runnning and time trials i now have the Photoclear lenses and they are really good.  No more choosing the wrong tint for the light conditions these are right all the time.

New in Rudy Project Sports Sunspecs some available with your lenses directly glazed to the frame and some available with Rx inserts.

zoom_17-25-18ketyum_01.jpgI have been wearing the Ketyum (shown left - select to enlarge) for cycling and triathlons. The lenses are red photochromic and the complete package is proving brilliant. On the bike when in the aero position you have a very high eye-line; it’s like continuously looking upwards. The Ketyum has a high top rim which allows you to get really low on the extensions and still see ahead.

Out on the run the Ketyum stays where it’s put, giving great clear vision whatever the light. The temples (side pieces) are easily adjustable and comfortable, when we set them up properly for you they don’t move.
